Hello! My son, Ezra (7), has become very excited about trains, alongside his grandfather, since visiting Thistlewyck at Filoli. The folks at the train shop in the south bay recommended learning from you all about which gauge train is most popular among members before we look for a starter set.

I think we just missed the last open house - is it still every other Saturday at the Menlo Park train station?

Also, are there children at all involved in WBMRA or is it largely for adults?

Hello, Robert, and thank you for your interest in the WBMRA! To answer your specific questions: our public open houses occur the first and third Saturdays of the month (not every other Saturday) and while membership is not currently open to people as young as 7 you, as Ezra's father, are more than welcome to join our club, thus gaining access to the layout for you and your son.
